To the Dental Patients of Carey On Family Dental:
We are pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Colin Duffy to our dental team.
Debra and I have taken great effort to find someone who can uphold the high quality of service that patients have appreciated. We have been fortunate to find just the right dentist to step in and continue to provide you with the very best care. Because we want to be certain that our patients receive the very best care when away for vacation time or dental courses, we have carefully evaluated a number of candidates and have selected Dr. Colin Duffy, whom we believe possesses the very best qualifications to fit into our office and is very skilled in his work. Dr. Duffy came highly recommended through someone whom we both have great confidence in. He brings exceptional clinical skill, Endodontic expertise and up to date knowledge to Carey On Family Dental.
Dr. Colin Duffy joined our team February 2015. He will be working permanently on Mondays and at this time I will continue to work Tuesday through Friday. He will also be filling in for me if I am not available.
Dr. Colin Duffy grew up in PEI, and graduated from the University of PEI with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1991, and then Dalhousie Dental School where he graduated in 1995. He was a member of the Canadian Forces Dental Services from 1991 until retirement in 2013.
Dr. Colin Duffy has gained diverse dental experience; he has practiced in Cold Lake, Alberta; Halifax Nova Scotia including 1 year each on board HMCS Provider and HMCS Preserver; Edmonton, Alberta where he did a 7 month deployment to Bosnia with NATO; Greenwood, Nova Scotia, Geilenkirchen, Germany; and his final posting in Esquimalt where he retired from the Canadian Forces Dental Services. He states, “It is the lack of snow and mosquitoes that convinced him to stay in Victoria”.
Since most years since 2004, Colin has spent 1-2 weeks a year with the dental charity, Kindness In Action, in various 3rd world countries performing free dental treatment for the poor in rural communities. These countries are usually in Central or South America (but also South Africa and India) his most current trip is to Cambodia (January 2015). Before this he did a 2-month deployment with the US Navy on the hospital ship USNS Mercy doing humanitarian dental treatment in Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Antigua.
In his spare time, Colin enjoys woodworking and mining for crystals in BC and other parts of the world. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Duffy. We feel very privileged to have him select our office to work, especially because his style of practice is in line with our office philosophy.
